Ten T-SQL Techniques with Tally Tables

Speaker: Chris Hyde

Summary: A "Tally" table, or table of numbers, can be used to improve your T-SQL querying performance and efficiency in a variety of ways. In this session, we'll look at different techniques you can use in a multitude of situations, including creating large volumes of test data very quickly, reporting on gaps in your data, and replacing cursors and other looping mechanisms in your queries.

About Chris: Chris Hyde has been working with the Microsoft SQL Server stack for over thirteen years and has completed certification exams in SQL versions 2012, 2008, 2005, and 2000. He is a Senior Consultant with Leidos Health, which he particularly enjoys as he gets to tackle different types of SQL problems at each client. He has been previously employed at ABQ Health Partners, Thornburg Mortgage, and Presbyterian Health Services.
